As we begin our partnership with the local Boys and Girls Club, this initiative focuses on designing a space-efficient shelving system for their storage room. The team will collaborate closely with club members to ensure the final design reflects day-to-day needs and long-term usability.
Throughout the semester the group will iterate on shelving layouts, incorporating direct feedback from the club. Each revision emphasizes accessibility, durability, and efficient use of vertical and horizontal space.
After finalizing a pitch-ready design, the team will outline construction logistics, from procurement to build sequencing. During installation, EWB students will act as facilitators—supporting club members and volunteers as they bring the design to life.
Students interested in community engagement, human-centered design, and hands-on fabrication are encouraged to join. Help shape a project that blends technical planning with collaborative construction and delivers an immediate benefit to our local partners.
